Step into Sport Behaviour Policy

Purpose:  

To create a safe and positive learning environment where all students can thrive whilst having fun at our clubs.

1.Expectations:

   – Respect: Treat everyone with kindness and consideration. This includes teammates, coaches, and the opposition.

   – Responsibility: Take ownership of your actions and their consequences. Try your best by giving 110% and care for Step into Sport property.

   – Safety: Follow club rules to keep yourself and others safe. This includes staying in designated areas and responding to instructions.

   – Cooperation: Work together with your peers. Share, take turns, and support one another in group activities.

2. Expectations:

3. Positive Reinforcement:

   – Acknowledge and reward positive behaviour through:

     – Praise from coaches.

     – Incentives for good behaviour.

     – Special recognition during debriefs and the chance of winning a medal..

4. Consequences for Misbehaviour:

   – Warning: A verbal reminder of the behaviour expectations.

   – Reflection: A short time-out to think about the behaviour and its impact.

   – Parent Notification: In cases of repeated misbehaviour, parents will be notified to discuss strategies and support.

   – Removal from the club- If a child’s behaviour continues after the previous steps then the child will no longer be able to attend the club.  

5. Support Systems:

   – If we believe the parent or child of a club could do with professional support with certain behaviours then we will speak to schools to see how we can support.

6. Review and Improvement:

   – This policy will be reviewed annually to reflect the needs of children, coaches, and the Step into Sport community.

Conclusion:  

By working together, we can foster a supportive and respectful school environment. Everyone is encouraged to follow these guidelines to ensure a successful and enjoyable experience for all.
